Sevierville, Tenn. – Sue Barker claimed the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce Friend of the
Year Award at the organization's annual Membership Breakfast. Barker, of Smokies Investors
Real Estate, received the award in recognition of her commitment to participating in and
promoting the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce.
“Wow! My heart is still pumping. What an honor to be recognized by my peers. Thank you, Sevierville
Chamber. My advice is to get involved, meet at least three new people at each event. Your
chamber is one of your greatest assets, but you need to attend Coffee Talk, ribbon cuttings,
and Business After Hours,’ says Barker, “ My company is small, but we sponsor the Membership
Breakfast, the Rose Glen Literary Festival, and the historic walking tour at the Bloomin’ BBQ
Festival. The chamber is growing. Be a part of it. See you at Bloomin’ BBQ again.”
As a thank you for her dedication, Barker received $500 courtesy of Walters State
Community College as well as a beautiful trophy courtesy of Sign Master.
“Sue has been a longtime supporter of this organization,” says Sevierville Chamber of
Commerce Chief Executive Officer Brenda McCroskey. “She goes above and beyond to support
the chamber’s events and programs, makes new business members feel welcome, and is heavily
involved in growing the business community. We appreciate her and are so happy to honor her in this way.”
